Luxury Hardwood Decking - Pine Wood UAE

Hardwood Decking in the UAE — Iroko, Teak, Cumaru, Balau and Thermowood

Hardwood Decking Options We Supply

If you want real timber decking that holds up in the UAE climate, hardwood is the right starting point. The Gulf environment — intense heat, direct sun for most of the year, humidity near the coast — puts decking material under real pressure.

Conventional softwood simply doesn't last. Hardwood species naturally have the density, oil content and structural strength to handle outdoor conditions far better, and when FSC certified, they come from forests managed for long-term sustainability.

We supply a range of premium hardwood decking species across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC. All our hardwood decking is available FSC certified, and we can advise on the right species for your project, budget and location. Take a look at each option below, or get in touch and we'll help you narrow it down.

Thermory Thermowood Decking by Pine Wood UAE - Thermo Ash, Thermo Pine, Thermo Spruce

Thermoash Wood Decking

If you're looking for a timber decking option that combines good outdoor durability with chemical-free production and strong sustainability credentials, thermowood is worth considering alongside the tropical hardwood options above.

Thermowood goes through a high-temperature modification process that significantly improves its resistance to moisture, rot and dimensional movement — without any chemical preservatives.

We supply Thermory thermo ash and thermo pine decking, both of which perform well in UAE outdoor conditions and carry FSC and Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification.

cumaru decking - luxury decking - pine wood uae

Cumaru Decking

Cumaru — sometimes called Brazilian Teak — is a South American hardwood that rivals genuine teak in density and durability but typically comes in at a lower price point. It's one of the hardest commercially available decking timbers. That density makes it extremely resistant to wear, scratching and surface damage under heavy foot traffic.

The colour is a warm reddish-brown with subtle golden streaks running through the grain. It's a visually distinctive timber that works particularly well for large deck areas where the natural colour variation gives the overall surface real character. Like teak, it has a naturally high oil content that gives it good moisture resistance without chemical treatment.

Cumaru is a strong choice for high-traffic commercial terraces, resort pool decks and large villa garden projects where long-term durability under use is the priority. FSC certified Cumaru is available from sustainably managed South American forests.

FSC Iroko Decking - Pine Wood UAE - serving the middle east

FSC Iroko Decking

Iroko is a West African hardwood that has been used in exterior decking and joinery for decades. It has a naturally high oil content which makes it genuinely resistant to moisture, rot and insects without any chemical treatment. The colour is a warm medium to golden brown when freshly installed, mellowing to a consistent silver grey over time if left uncoated outdoors.

It's one of the most popular hardwood decking choices in the UAE and GCC for a straightforward reason — it performs well in hot, humid conditions, it's durable enough for both residential and commercial use, it works with standard carpentry tools, and it comes at a more accessible price point than teak. FSC certified Iroko is available from sustainably managed West African forests.

Iroko works well for villa garden decking, pool surrounds, balconies and commercial terraces.

If you're also finishing exterior walls, our wood cladding range includes Iroko cladding profiles to give a consistent finish across decking and facade.

FSC Yellow Balau Decking - Luxury Hardwood Decking by Pine Wood UAE

FSC Yellow Balau Decking

Yellow Balau is a South East Asian hardwood from the Shorea family — the same timber group as Bangkirai — and is widely used for exterior decking across the Middle East. It's a dense, heavy timber with good natural durability and a fine straight grain that gives it a clean, consistent appearance across large deck areas.

The colour is a pale to medium yellow-brown when freshly installed, making it one of the lighter-toned hardwood options we supply. It weathers to a silver grey over time outdoors if left uncoated, similar to other hardwood species. It takes oil well if you want to maintain the natural colour.

Yellow Balau is a practical mid-range hardwood option for contractors and developers who need a proven, FSC certified, durable decking timber at a competitive price. It's used on villa garden decks, poolside areas and commercial terraces across the UAE and GCC.

eco friendly FSC sourced teak decking by Pine wood UAE - used for yachts

FSC Teak Wood Decking

Teak is probably the best known premium hardwood in the world for outdoor use, and for good reason. Its natural silica and oil content make it exceptionally resistant to water, rot, insects and the dimensional instability that affects most other timbers outdoors. It has a long proven track record in demanding environments — marine decking, yacht decks, outdoor furniture and high-end residential projects — and it holds its appearance for decades with minimal maintenance.

The colour is a rich warm golden brown when freshly installed. Left uncoated it weathers gradually to an even pale silver-grey which many people prefer aesthetically. Regular oiling will preserve the original golden tone if that's the look you're after.

FSC certified teak from sustainably managed plantations is significantly more responsible environmentally than old-growth teak, and the quality is comparable. We supply teak decking for private villas, resort pool surrounds, yacht refits and high-end commercial projects across the UAE and GCC.

bamboo decking - luxury exotic hardwood decking - pine wood uae

FSC Bamboo Decking

Bamboo decking is a fast-growing, highly renewable alternative to tropical hardwood with a distinctive look that suits contemporary outdoor spaces well.

We supply strand-woven bamboo decking boards which are significantly harder and more dense than conventional softwood, and perform better outdoors than most people expect from bamboo.

Which Hardwood is Right for Your Project?

Here's a straight comparison to help you decide:

Teak — the premium choice. Best long-term durability, highest natural oil content, proven track record in marine and pool environments. Highest price point. Best for high-end villa pool surrounds, yacht decks and prestige commercial projects where longevity justifies the investment.

Iroko — the practical premium choice. Very similar performance to teak outdoors, good natural oil and rot resistance, works well in UAE heat and humidity. More accessible price than teak. Best all-round option for villa gardens, pool surrounds and commercial terraces.

Cumaru — the density choice. Extremely hard and wear-resistant, warm reddish-brown colour with good grain character, naturally durable without chemical treatment. Good for high-traffic commercial areas and large resort pool decks.

Yellow Balau — the value hardwood. Solid performer, clean pale grain, FSC certified, proven in the region. Best for larger projects where genuine hardwood quality is needed at a competitive price per square metre.

Accoya — the maximum performance choice. 50-year above ground warranty, the most dimensionally stable decking option available, best for poolside and exposed rooftop environments. See our full Accoya wood decking page for details.

Thermowood — the sustainable modified timber choice. Chemical-free, FSC and Nordic Swan certified, performs well in UAE outdoor conditions. Good alternative to tropical hardwood for buyers with strong sustainability requirements. See our full Thermowood decking page for details.
